Dr. sc. hum. Karina Janson works as a postdoctoral researcher at the Central Institute of Mental Health (ZI) in Mannheim in the Research Group for Clinical Neurophysiology and Psychology of Childhood and Adolescence. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of Mannheim and a Master's degree in Cognitive Science from the Technical University of Kaiserslautern.
Her research focuses on the neuropsychological assessment and treatment of ADHD, as well as on the development and evaluation of preventive and therapeutic approaches for affective dysregulation in children and adolescents. She has also gained teaching experience in Medical Psychology and Sociology at the Mannheim Medical Faculty of Heidelberg University (2022–2023). Since May 2024, she has additionally been working at the Institute of Medical Psychology and Medical Sociology (IMPS) in Kiel.
